The shooters are associates of the Bhuppi Rana gang, which attacked Goldie, a resident of Khedi village, and gang member Lawrence Bishnoi. They allegedly argued in prison and planned the attack on Goldie last month.

On October 21, a team of detectives arrested Akshit, a 25-year-old resident of Yamunanagar. He was detained by the police for five days for questioning. Then on October 25, Dhruv, 26 and a resident of Delhi, was arrested from Yamunanagar.

ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj detailed how Dhruv and his two accomplices rode up to Goldie on a motorcycle and opened fire. Investigation revealed that the accused had stolen the vehicle from Barada in Ambala about three months earlier. They parked the stolen car at the crusher premises in Raipur Rani, after which they fired and fled in the same vehicle.

Police recovered illegal firearms belonging to arrested gunman Dhruv as well as the stolen Swift car used in the commission of the crime.

Both the accused are in police custody, Akshit will be remanded till October 27 and Dhruv will remain in police custody for six days. The investigation is ongoing and police hope to discover links to other suspects and incidents through further questioning.

A case under section 1 has been registered at Raipur Rani police station. 109 section 1 (attempted murder) and art. 3 section 5 (criminal act committed to attract attention) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
