A man accused of murder allegedly encouraged the victim to date other men for money

A 26-year-old man accused of allegedly beating his 25-year-old girlfriend to death encouraged her to meet other men for money so he could use the money for his investments, investigative sources said Thursday.

Tokyo police have issued a new arrest warrant for Ryotaro Masuda, who describes himself as a personal investor, for earlier violence against a woman that resulted in injuries.

Investigators suspect that Masuda repeatedly beat her to force her to date other men for money – the so-called papakatsuwhich loosely translates to dating older men for moneyso that he can use this money for his investments as well as for his personal use.
