Everton news: ‘Get Iliman Ndiaye involved as much as you can’

According to Everton fan Lee McClean, many Everton fans are “crying” for Iliman Ndiaye to play at number 10 for the Toffees.

Since his summer move from Marseille, Ndiaye has scored three goals in 13 league and cup appearances.

Dwight McNeil has played in a more central role in recent weeks, but McClean would like him to return to the left wing if he is fit for Saturday’s match against Brentford, after Ndiaye has been moved into the box.

“I think myself and most Evertonians I meet would probably change things up a bit and move McNeil back to the left because everyone is calling for Ndiaye in the number 10 position,” McClean told BBC Radio Merseyside.

“If you look at how good he is and can be, we definitely haven’t seen his best form yet.

“His ceiling is very high. He is a great player, he is worth watching, he receives the ball in difficult situations, he has amazing skills, he can slide past players, he is not afraid to take on opponents and he is direct. We haven’t seen this before.” a player like he was at Everton for a long time – Richarlison was similar but didn’t have the level of skill.

“So I think you involve him as much as you can, pull the strings and you will see that he will have more goals and assists.

“And if you look at the quality of McNeil’s play from the left, he has an incredible left foot. The only thing we are not doing is putting enough crosses into the box and we have Dominic Calvert-Lewin there, who is probably one of the best headers in the league.”
