Authorities say two people are dead and one injured at a Wise County home

On Wednesday, November 15, two people were found dead and one injured in a Newark home during a welfare check conducted by Wise County Sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies responded to the home at 200 County Road 4874 after a caller reported he had been unable to reach a resident for several days, Deputy Chief Craig Johnson said in a news release.

Upon arrival at the residence, deputies knocked and announced their presence, but there was no response. They went in and found two bodies inside, Johnson said.

The injured person was transported to a local hospital.

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this case with the assistance of the Texas Rangers.

At this time, authorities do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the small town located 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
