Florida killer lashes out at father of teen he killed over Yeezys in courtroom outburst before sentencing

A Florida murderer jumped from his courtroom chair toward his victim’s family as a devastated father called his teenage daughter’s killer an “animal” for fatally shooting her over a pair of Yeezys.

The family of an 18-year-old Andrea Camps Lacayo had the opportunity to speak face-to-face with Adrian Cosby, accused of murdering a high school senior in 2020, during Cosby’s sentencing on Friday.

“You are the embodiment of the evil and darkness that this world represents,” Camps Lacayo’s father, Anthony Camps, told Cosby in a victim impact statement. to NBC Miami. “There is no forgiveness on this earth for animals like you.”

“There’s only one place where animals like you belong, and that’s prison for the rest of your life,” Camps added, surrounded by family and his daughter’s high school sweetheart.

Camps’ statement to his daughter’s killer sent the 23-year-old into a frenzy just a few feet from the podium.

“What the fuck are you talking about, bitch!” Cosby shouted, standing up and trying to rush towards his family, – reported the Miami Herald.

Court officers restrained Cosby and chased him from the courtroom as he hurled several more profanities at Camps Lacayo’s loved ones who needed to be kept away from Cosby.

Camps Locayo was scheduled to graduate from the Terra Environmental Research Institute and then begin nursing studies at Florida International University when she was killed.

She and her boyfriend Sergio Berben tried to sell personal items to make money during the Covid-19 pandemic.

When they arranged to meet 19-year-old George Walton on April 7, 2020, the pair tried to sell three pairs of Adidas Yeezys worth $935.

The couple met with Walton outside an abandoned house in Homestead near Florida’s Turnpike.

Walton asked to try on a pair of shoes designed and marketed by rapper Kanye West, but Berben insisted that he be paid. according to NBC Miami.

Cosby then approached Berbena’s driver’s door and opened fire, striking Camps Locayo and Berbena.

Berben was grazed in the arm, while Camps Locayo was shot at least once in the torso.

According to the website, Berben drove away, but quickly pulled over when he realized that his girlfriend was dying.

When the first services arrived, the teenager was fading in and out of consciousness.

Miami-Dade Police Sergeant Jenna Parmenter testified at Cosby’s trial, recalling Camps Locayo asking “if everything was going to be OK.”

“She disappeared and closed her eyes,” Parmenter said.

Camps Locayo, the captain of her school’s dance team, died in hospital during surgery.

“He shot my girlfriend and tried to kill me too,” Berben told jurors in the Cosby case.

Cosby was found guilty of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon.

After a 20-minute recess following the outburst, Cosby was brought back into the courtroom without the Camps family.

Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Miguel M. De la O sentenced Cosby to two life sentences.

He was also sentenced to 25 years in prison for attempted robbery.

Earlier this year, Walton was convicted of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery.

He was also sentenced to life imprisonment.
