Pedestrian hit by a car after falling on the road

According to the police, the pedestrian was seriously injured after falling on the road and being hit by a car.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Stainland Road, Greetland, at around 08:45 GMT to reports of an accident near West Vale Primary School.

A police spokesman said an initial investigation suggested the pedestrian had “entered the road and was involved in a collision with a vehicle.”

He added that the pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
