Neighbor shoots, kills Pa couple. then myself: the police

On Wednesday, three people died in Philadelphia in what police call a double murder and suicide.

Police said they responded to a home in the 7300 block of Walnut Lane around 4 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired in the area. NBC10 AND 6ABC.

Upon arrival, they found a 77-year-old man lying on the entrance stairs with a gunshot wound to the head and body.

Nearby lay a 50-year-old man who also had a gunshot wound to the head. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Inside the home, authorities found the body of a 76-year-old woman who also had gunshot wounds. She was taken to hospital, where she later died.

Police said that according to witnesses, an elderly couple was returning from the grocery store and heading home when a neighbor shot them.

The neighbor then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide, police said.

“I watched the whole thing from my bedroom window,” neighbor Dashanae Diego told 6ABC. “I saw that the woman was still breathing, so I ran over to put pressure on the wound.”

Witnesses told police the couple had been arguing with a neighbor, but it’s unclear if that led to the shooting.
