Locksmith center unveils plans for “most complex sculpture of all time.”

The centre, located on the outskirts of Oswestry, says the latest monument has been given the working title ‘The United Eye’.

The attraction, which is behind a number of stunning sculptures including the Angel with Knife, says the latest work will measure 30 meters by eight meters and represent a “giant all-seeing eye”.

Explaining the inspiration for the plan, the center said: “As governing bodies and world leaders are at the forefront of global environmental and political decisions, the idea behind the sculpture is to highlight the fact that we are all ‘watching’ and keeping an eye on how these policies impact our daily lives.”

“Essentially, this memorial is a call to these leading bodies to ‘do the right thing’ and take responsibility for actions that negatively impact our societies as a whole.”

United Eye will be made of 10,000 glass lenses, each containing a transparent image of the eye.

Ironworks said its vision is to “present the eyes of one representative from all 10,000+ cities in the world.”

It said the project would “create a united front of all faiths, creeds, races, genders, sexualities, backgrounds and cultures,” adding: “Ideally, those involved in the project will be activists or people committed to making the world a better place for future generations.”

The center said “The United Eye” will be the “most complex” sculpture ever in terms of size, scale and global involvement.

A statement from the center said: “This is the first of its kind to engage people from every city in the world and is intended to serve as a strong reminder to governing bodies that people are always watching.

“Once created, like Knife Angel, Ironworks will petition to have the statue placed in an influential location in the UK; in this case in the heart of Parliament Square in London.

“The site is famous for overlooking many official buildings, including the Houses of Parliament, the Supreme Court and Whitehall.

“The Ironworks will soon be issuing a call to representatives around the world to get involved and submit a photo of their eyes, which will then become a key part of the sculpture.

“But we are currently seeking further ideas and reflections on how this monument can have the greatest global participation and impact.
