‘RHOP’ Star and Talent Manager Dies by Shocking Suicide at Age 37 as Heartbroken Co-stars Pay Touching Tribute

Matthew Byars, a talent manager best known for his appearance on The Real Housewives of Potomac, has tragically passed away. He was only 37 years old. The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to Page Six on Friday that Byars died Thursday of “multiple blunt force injuries.”

His death was officially declared a suicide, and an autopsy report was also prepared. Byars was first introduced to Bravo viewers in 2018 during the third season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” as a member of Karen Huger’s management team. In a 2018 interview with Bravo’s Daily Dish, Huger, 61, opened up about their successful professional partnership.

“Matt is great, great at PR. “I have PR, Matt is not my PR, but I would say Matt is on the line with my agent, my booker, and it works for me,” she explained.

“I met some dynamic people thanks to this powerful young man with incredible connections,” she continued. “And my personality and his connections just work great and I’m blessed to have Matt in my life.”

Huger fondly remembered her late friend for her support during difficult times, sharing: “When my mom died in 2017, “I didn’t expect him to be there, but that’s who Matt was – he always showed love and support that touched the soul “

“Matt was much loved and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him,” she continued in her heartfelt statement.

“Matt, my heart is broken. I love you – here and beyond. Until we meet again, I will carry your memory in my heart. I will miss you beyond words, my friend.”

Melissa Gorga paid a heartfelt tribute to her friend, writing: “Why didn’t you tell me Matt? “I’m heartbroken.”

“Your personality was contagious. Your jokes – you always had them. You should have gotten up – I know it was your dream. Matt, my heart hurts. Because earlier this week you didn’t tell me.

“I know life has been hard – I know. Thank you for bringing me my first “ON DISPLAY” performance – you and me. WE ARE LOYAL. That doesn’t make them like us. I wish I could have saved you. Thank you for the memories. Lie down. Make them laugh.

Many of her colleagues expressed theirs sadness in the comments to the post. Dolores Catania wrote: “We all loved him, we are so sorry for your loss. I know how close you were, we will miss you, rest in peace my friend.”

Comedian Bruce Vilanch seemed to be the first to announce Byars passing on Thursday via a public Facebook post.

“Matt Byars ended his fight like that Morning. Those of you who knew him can DM me for more information,” he wrote. “I’m sorry I’m a carrier…”
