Latest news from the Middle East: One killed, dozens injured in ‘terrorist attack’ on bus stop near Tel Aviv; Iran’s supreme leader responds to Israeli attacks

Israeli police say a truck collision with a bus stop in central Israel is being treated as a “terrorist incident.”

According to emergency services, at least 35 people were injured, six of them seriously, after a truck crashed into a bus stop north of Tel Aviv this morning (see post 9.34 for more information).

Israeli police spokesman Asi Aharoni said: “We are treating this as a terrorist incident.

“The identity of the terrorist is still unknown, most likely he is an Israeli-Arab. “Right now, together with the Shin Bet (Israeli security agency), we are trying to establish the identity and get absolute certainty.”

The incident took place near the Glilot military base and the headquarters of the Israeli spy agency Mossad.
