Three young people were injured when a car overturned after driving through a fence

Authorities said three young people were injured in a crash in rural Hanover County, Virginia, on Sunday morning.

Officers were called to a crash in the 12100 Block of Old Ridge Road just before 4 a.m., officials with the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to deputies, at this point a passenger car went off the road, broke through a fence and then rolled on its side.

The three minors were taken to a nearby hospital, where at last check-up the condition of one of them was serious. According to the deputy prosecutor, the other two suffered minor injuries.

Authorities said that although “there was no alcohol present in the driver’s presence,” speed may have been a factor in the crash.

The rescue team is investigating what caused the crash.
