Jerome County police say it’s a murder-suicide

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a home in Jerome County after a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed a body on the floor of the home, and after attempting to obtain answers from inside the home, officers entered the home.

Officers found a deceased adult female and a deceased adult male. As stated in the announcement, both people probably died as a result of a gunshot, one of them caused self-inflicted wounds.

The sheriff’s office said it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The names of the victims have not been released at this time, but victims’ families are still being notified.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate.
