Suspected killer of Springfield mom and baby arrested in Puerto Rico

A man from Connecticut suspected of murder He said a Springfield mother and her 4-month-old baby were arrested Saturday in Puerto Rico United States Marshals Service.

Lance “Macho” Morales, 23, is accused of killing 20-year-old Jessiah Mercado and her 4-month-old son Messiah Diaz and wounding a third person in a drive-by shooting in Hartford on Tuesday.

According to marshals, Morales, of Waterbury, was charged with two counts: murder, first-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, attempted first-degree assault and murder with special circumstances.
