Investigators release the identities of those involved in the deadly shooting at Lee’s Summit

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (KCTV) – Investigators have released the identities of those involved in a shooting in Lee’s Summit that left one person dead.

The Lee’s Summit Police Department on Saturday, November 23, it was announced that the victim in Friday’s shooting had been identified as Craig L. Scott, 51. The shooter was also identified as Keith J. Marshall, 31, of Kansas City.

Law enforcement officials indicated that emergency crews were called to the area of ​​SW Rutherford Dr. around 8 a.m. Friday. and SW Maryville Pl., south of Highway 150, for a report of shots fired. The caller reported that Scott and Marshall knew each other previously.

When rescuers entered the home, they found Scott suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Marshall fled the home before police arrived, but surrendered several hours later.

Marshall was booked into Lee’s Summit Jail and charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, first-degree burglary and unlawful use of a weapon. His bail was set at $250,000 cash.
