One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a shooting on Jacksonville’s Westside

JACKSONVILLE, FL. – A man died and another suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting at a Jacksonville Westside park Saturday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said that around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, off-duty officers were at Wiley Road Park when they heard gunshots.

Officers found two men with gunshot wounds. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue took one of the men to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the other man died at the scene.

Detectives said they were still investigating the incident.
