A 28-year-old Delhi Police officer was allegedly stabbed to death by three men while patrolling at night near Sant Ravidas Marg in Govindpuri area.

A 28-year-old Delhi Police officer was allegedly stabbed to death by three men while on night patrol near Sant Ravidas Marg in Govindpuri area, officials said on Sunday, adding that the attacker was killed and two others arrested in the encounter.

The ruling came barely 24 hours after Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the law and order situation in the capital in a closed-door meeting with top policemen.

Kiranpal Singh, 28, from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, joined Delhi Police as a constable in 2018, initially working at Kishan Garh police station.

He was later posted in the 4th Battalion of the Delhi Armed Police until October 2021. He then served in the South-West District until February, when he joined the South-East District and was posted at Govindpuri Police Station.
