AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – One teenager is dead and two others were injured in a shooting that took place Saturday night at a Halloween party in Akron.

According to a news release from Akron Police, officers responded to a shooting during a Halloween party at a residence on the 100 block of Paris Avenue around 10:46 p.m.

Officers who arrived at the scene found an 18-year-old girl seriously injured with a gunshot wound.

Akron police officers also found a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the two fled the scene after being shot.

Police said the younger teenager was expected to recover, but the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending further investigation.

The preliminary investigation indicates that during a Halloween house party, an unknown male subject took out a gun and fired shots while inside the home, striking the teenagers.
