The original host of “Wheel of Fortune” was 83 years old

Game show veteran Chuck Woolery, who hosted the original versions Wheel of fortune AND Love connectiondied on November 23. He was 83 years old.

Woolery’s death was announced on the day X by his longtime friend and The shameless truth podcast co-host Mark Young.

“It is with a broken heart that I announce that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away,” he wrote. “Life won’t be the same without him.”

The young one said TMZ that Woolery died at his Texas home after suffering breathing difficulties.

Woolery, who started his career as a singer and was one half of the pop duo The Avant-Garde, was hired as Wheel of fortune host when the show first launched in 1975. After hosting the show for six years, he was replaced by Pat Sajak.

Love connection was also launched in 1983, with Woolery as its first host, a position he held for 11 years. Other game shows he has hosted/co-hosted over the years include: Scribble (1984–1990 and its short-lived revival in 1993), Home and family (1996–1998), Volon Dating game (1997–1999), Greed (1999–2000) i Jargon (2002–2007). He also hosted his own talk show entitled Chuck Woolery show, which had a short stint in 1991.

Woolery has guest-starred on numerous series, including It’s The Garry Shandling Show, Melrose Place, Sister, Sister AND Peels.

In 2012, he started hosting a national radio program entitled Save us Chuck Woolery. Two years later, it evolved into a podcast with a new title Forced blunt truth.

Known for his conservative views, Woolery has been the subject of much controversy over the past decade over topics such as Covid and anti-Semitism.
