A 21-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash in Plainfield Township

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A 21-year-old Plainfield Township man died after he crashed his motorcycle into another vehicle Saturday evening.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, at the intersection of Plainfield Avenue and Mark Street in Plainfield Township.

Deputies say the man was driving a Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Plainfield Avenue at a high rate of speed when he collided with a passenger car turning westbound onto Mark Street.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the passenger car, a 23-year-old woman from Grand Rapids, was not injured.

This fatal crash is being investigated by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit.
