A search for two people began after a man was taken to hospital following a robbery in Inverclyde

A search has been launched for two suspects after a man was taken to hospital following a robbery in Inverclyde.

Officers were called to Montgomerie Street, Port Glasgow, at around 4.35pm on Saturday.

A 56-year-old man reported that he was attacked and robbed of his wallet and jewelry at 2 p.m.

The man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and released after receiving treatment.

Police are looking for two suspects described as white, between 20 and 30 years old and of slim build.

One suspect was wearing gray clothes, the other in black

The services appeal to anyone who has any information about the incident to come forward.

Police officer Agnieszka Telford said: “Our investigation continues to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and trace the two men responsible.

“If you were in the Montgomerie Street area on Saturday afternoon and witnessed anything suspicious or relevant in connection with this investigation, please contact us.

“Anyone with information should get in touch 101 quoting incident number 2473 of November 23. You can also contact the charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111where you can remain anonymous.”
