One person died and three were seriously injured in an accident in Marion County

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers say one person was killed and three others were seriously injured in a crash on County Road 314 Saturday evening.

Police said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. near Northeast 170th Avenue.

Authorities say the two vehicles collided when the victim’s driver, a 50-year-old woman from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, tried to pass another vehicle in front by crossing the double yellow line.

When the collision occurred, a second car was traveling towards them in the opposite lane.

The first car overturned and both cars ended up on the grassy side of the road.

Three other passengers were involved in the incident and all reported serious injuries.
