GHS school shooter charged with aggravated assault

Nov. 24 – A Houston woman accused of trying to shoot a Greenville ISD athletics employee in July was arraigned last week on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Forty-four-year-old Tekeysha Letoya McCloud was arrested July 9 in Dallas by school district police and transferred to the Hunt County Detention Center. She posted $105,000 bail and was released from jail on July 12. She was also charged with illegally carrying weapons in a prohibited place.

The shooting occurred on July 9 at approximately 1:30 p.m., when McCloud went to the Roy “Q” Traylor Athletic Facility at Greenville High School and fired a single shot at a staff member, an assistant coach of the Lions football team. The coach was fired by the district.
