Police in Eluru arrest a man in a double murder case

Mandavalli police on Sunday said they had arrested Royyuru Nagesh Babu, who allegedly killed his aunt and her son over a property dispute. On Saturday, sixty-year-old Royyuru Bramaramba and her son R. Suresh (20) were found murdered in their home in Mandavalli in Eluru district.

Taking to the media on Sunday, Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore said that R. Subba Rao had two wives Nancharamma and Bramaramba. Nancharamma’s son Nagesh Babu, the accused, and Bramaramba’s son Suresh, deceased, had a quarrel over a house plot and a piece of agricultural land.

On the night of November 23, Nagesh Babu attacked Bramaramba and her son with a knife while they were sleeping and killed them. A team led by Eluru DSP D. Sravan Kumar and Kaikalur circle inspector V. Ravi Kumar arrested the accused, the SP said.
