A 60-year-old man died after jumping into Mogarpada Lake in Ovala

A 60-year-old man died on Sunday after jumping into a lake in Mogarpada Talaw area of ​​Ovala in Thane. The deceased was identified as Maruti Patil, a resident of Thane. According to an official of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC), they received information that a man had jumped into the lake and during investigation, it was found that Patil had taken this drastic step due to illness.

RDMC chief Yasin Tadvi said, “We have sent a team with rescue vehicle and fire brigade to the spot.”

With the help of residents, another official said that firefighters recovered the body and handed it over to Kasarwadvli police for further investigation.
