Former Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs scored a 70-yard TD, the longest of his career

Former Alabama linebacker Jahmyr Gibbs set a new career rushing record on Sunday with a 70-yard one-touchdown late in the first quarter of the Detroit Lions’ game against the Tennessee Titans. This is a new record for him and comes just a week after he set his previous career high with a 45-yard touchdown run against the Minnesota Vikings.

He finished that game with 15 carries for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Here’s a look at the game from Gibbs’ last and longest streak, according to NextGenStats: it achieved a top speed of 22.03 miles per hour. This is a good result when it comes to the second maximum speed of a ball carrier in the entire league this season.

So far in this game, Gibbs has 6 carries and is just 1 yard away from reaching the century mark again, totaling 99 yards on the ground and 1 touchdown. Gibbs is currently averaging 16.5 yards per attempt. He also has a single reception for 6 yards.

Originally selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Gibbs has played as much of a role in his professional life as he did with the Crimson Tide in college.

At the time of publication, the Lions had a 42-14 lead over the Titans in the third quarter. The game airs on FOX.
