Jaipur man attempting suicide saved after friend saw his live broadcast on Facebook – Jaipur News

A Rajasthan police officer saved the life of a person who was trying to commit suicide, which he broadcast live on Facebook after receiving a tip-off from the man’s family.

According to the police, the incident took place on November 23 when a man identified as Pawan, a resident of Bagru in Jaipur, checked into a hotel in the city.

Police said Pawan started live streaming from his hotel room on Facebook, threatening to commit suicide.

One of Pawan’s friends who saw the live video immediately informed his friends, Jaipur Superintendent of Police Dinesh Sharma. Sharma traced Pawan after tracing the location of his mobile phone and then identified the hotel where he was staying. He then immediately notified the hotel staff.

After confirmation, the staff broke into the room and found Pawan who was about to hang himself from the ceiling fan. They immediately intervened and saved him, police added.

Pawan was taken to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur for treatment.

Amit Kumar, a senior police officer in Jaipur, said that the vigilance of Superintendent of Police Dinesh Sharma saved the man’s life. Further investigation into this matter is ongoing.
