Maryville man charged with sexual assault of an intoxicated person

MARYVILLE, Mo. (KCTV) – A Maryville man could face life in prison if he is found guilty of sexually assaulting an intoxicated person after being charged.

Nodaway County, Missouri, District Court Records filed Thursday, Nov. 21 show Aidan J. Martin, 19, of Maryville, was charged with sodomy following an incident that occurred in September.

Criminal complaint filed by Nodaway County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that on September 29, Martin committed sexual violence with his victim, who was under the influence of alcohol and unable to give consent. Martin also knew that the victim was unable to consent.

As a result, Martin was charged with sodomy, for which, if convicted, he could face life in prison with no possibility of parole for 30 years.

Court documents showed a warrant was issued for Martin’s arrest on Thursday and a no-bail condition was added. As of Sunday, he does not appear to be behind bars.

The hearing is expected to take place on Tuesday, December 3 at 9:00 a.m. No further information has been released.
