A 26-year-old woman among 2 employees died after an AC explosion occurred in an office in Raipur

A 48-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were killed and two others injured on Saturday when an air conditioner exploded at their office in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Police said the incident took place late in the evening on the second floor of a residential and commercial building near Mini Mata Chowk under Devendra Nagar police station.

At the time of the incident, the employees were working at the Automation Art Office. The force of the explosion was such that the office window shattered and fell. Upon hearing the sound of the explosion, employees of a nearby office went outside and immediately notified the police and fire brigade. After that, a police team along with the fire brigade and an ambulance arrived at the scene and started the rescue operation.

The police officer said that upon entering the premises there was a lot of smoke and that a man and a woman were lying unconscious. They were both immediately taken to hospital, where they died during treatment. According to the policeman, two people who were rescued at the scene were taken to hospital.

In August, an 18-year-old man was killed and his friend was injured when an outdoor unit of an air conditioner fell on them from the second floor of a building in central Delhi. In the CCTV footage that surfaced online, Jitesh can be seen sitting on a scooter near Doriwalan and talking to his friend Pranshu.

Suddenly, an air conditioner fell on them, injuring both people. They were quickly rushed to the hospital where, upon arrival, doctors declared Jitesh dead and Pranshu was admitted for treatment. The FIR has been registered under sections 125(a) (act endangering life or safety of others) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, a police official said.
