Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver that killed two women on I-10 West

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – El Paso police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a crash that killed two women on I-10 West near downtown.

Two Latina women, one in her 30s and the other in her late teens, tried to cross I-10 West on Nov. 16 just after 12:30 p.m.

As the women approached the exit ramp, a silver Mitsubishi Montero hit them. According to Crime Stoppers of El Paso, a second silver minivan then struck one of the women and dragged her body into the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express. The driver stopped but then fled the area.

Witnesses describe the minivan driver as a tall Hispanic man with a short white beard. Investigators managed to obtain a video recording showing a photo of the vehicle.

The driver of the Montero remained at the scene and called emergency services for help.

Both women died on the spot, their identities have not yet been identified.

These were the 59th and 60th traffic fatalities in El Paso in 2024, compared to 69 for the same period in 2023.
