The source of a mysterious water leak from Ocean Springs Advance car parts has been identified

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) – Water is no longer coming out of the Advance Auto Parts store in Ocean Springs. Many people speculated that the mysterious water leak occurred as a result of a natural spring bursting, but the city confirms that this was not the case.

The city told WLOX News that the water leak occurred from an old water main that was not plugged when the building was rebuilt many years ago. Therefore, when the city turned off the water in the building, it continued to flow from the ground.

Advance Auto Parts has hired a contractor to gut the building and rebuild the floors, but has not disclosed whether the Ocean Springs location is among the 700 closings across the United States.
