Indian man, 73, accused of molesting four women on a Singapore Airlines flight

A 73-year-old Indian national has been accused of molesting four women on a Singapore Airlines flight from the United States to Singapore. The alleged incident in which Ramesh of Balasubraman targeted four women lasted for 14 hours. He faces a maximum of 21 years in prison and is scheduled to plead guilty on December 13.

The alleged incident occurred on November 18 between 3:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Ramesh appeared in court in Singapore on November 25 and was charged with seven counts of molestation.

He allegedly attacked one woman four times and the other three women once, according to court documents, according to The Straits Times.

Details about the victims, including whether they were passengers or crew members, were not released because a gag order was put in place to protect their identities.

It is said that all the victims were molested at different times of the day.

The alleged incident began at 3.15 am when Ramesh was reported to have molested his first victim. He is said to have targeted the second woman five minutes later. Between 3:30 a.m. and 6 a.m., he allegedly molested the second victim three more times.

According to reports, at 9:30 a.m., Ramesh was outraged by the third woman’s modesty. The latest incident allegedly occurred at 5:30 p.m.

Under Singapore law, each charge of harassment is punishable by up to three years in prison, a fine or both.

Although caning is a possible punishment for molestation in Singapore, Ramesh is exempt from it due to his age, as offenders over the age of 50 are not subject to caning.
