New reports in the wake of Liam Payne’s fall claim the hotel knew about threats made by the singer on the balcony. What we know

According to reports, the singer died from injuries caused by falling from the third floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel. Leaked information shows that Payne later threatened to jump off the balcony before doing so, and news reports now claim that the hotel was aware of these threats before the star’s departure.

Apparently his actions stemmed from a reluctance to be confined to hotel rooms, something the “Bedroom Floor” singer allegedly experienced during his days in One Direction. As for how the hotel allegedly knew about his jump threats, the news outlet pointed to a situation that occurred shortly before the singer’s death.

Recovered surveillance footage from the CasaSur Palermo hotel shows the 1D graduate was escorted back to his room after the episode in the lobby. The recording shows the conscious singer being carried to his room by three hotel employees. The trio allegedly sent Mr Payne to his room after a scuffle. According to TMZ, it’s clear that the “Strip That Down” crooner told employees he was going to jump, as one of them later called 9-1-1 expressing concern that the singer might try to jump from the balcony.

Shortly afterwards, Liam Payne – left alone by staff – jumped and a post-mortem examination revealed he was in possession of crack cocaine, a benzodiazepine and pink cocaine in his system. It was also mentioned that this was not the first time Payne had tried to use the balcony to leave the place. When Payne’s body was found, he had a bag over his shoulder and a hat was found nearby, apparently lending credence to the assumption that he was trying to leave the hotel.
