Police have identified a 70-year-old New Jersey woman who died in a car crash

Bergen County authorities on Monday identified a woman who died in a hit-and-run crash last week as an Englewood resident.

Bernardita Garcia, 70, was found around 7 p.m. Thursday after Teaneck police officers called multiple people calling 911 reporting an outage. person lying in the road on Cedar Lane near Lincoln Place.

Arriving officers determined that Garcia had been hit by a vehicle that had left the scene.

Garcia was taken to Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, where she was pronounced dead, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

The death is being investigated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Investigation Unit in cooperation with local police.
