Police say a driver was “seriously injured” when his vehicle overturned on the Route 33 ramp

The driver was seriously injured in an accident in which the vehicle overturned on the exit from national road No. 33 Palmer Boroughstate police said.

The accident occurred just after 10:45 a.m. Monday on the highway in the northbound lanes, Pennsylvania State Police said Trooper Nathan Branosky, public information officer at Troop M barracks lehighvalleylive.com. Branosky said the driver’s SUV left the roadway for unknown reasons and overturned near the highway exit at the Palmer Township/Tatamy interchange.

State police closed the ramp. Traffic has been diverted, with drivers turning left at the top of the ramp, but not right, towards Tatamy Borough.

Pennsylvania State Police in Belfast are investigating with the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Division.
