Two people are dead after a crash in Norton Shores where a driver ran a red light

NORTON SHORES – Two Norton Shores residents died after a car crash last weekend.

A Honda CRV driven by an 84-year-old man was traveling north on Grand Haven Road without stopping for a red light when it struck a Honda Accord driven by a 71-year-old man that was traveling west on Sternberg Road.

Norton Shores Police and Fire Department responded to the accident at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 23.

The driver of the Honda CRV was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda Accord was extricated from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died.

There were no other people in the vehicles at the time of the accident.
