A man died after a car became airborne and crashed into a ditch in Seneca Co.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) – A man was killed Monday morning in Seneca County.

The accident occurred on November 25 at approximately 11:54 a.m. in Jackson Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Stephen Hoover, 64, of Fostoria, was driving westbound on Township Road 154 when he allegedly ran a stop sign, went through the intersection and went off the westbound edge of Township Road 101. Authorities say Hoover’s vehicle went up up in the air, drove through the yard and landed in a ditch.

Hoover was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and died at the scene.

It is unknown whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
