Victims found dead in Springville have been identified

SPRINGVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) – The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two people who were found dead in Springville on Sunday.

Emergency crews were called to the 700 block of Wild Pine Court in Springville around 3:50 p.m. after two people were found dead there.

Both people had visible gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office. Both were transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.

The victims were 69-year-old Robert Richmond Jr. and Janice Richmond, 67, both of Springville.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says it does not believe there is a threat to the public in this incident. This remains under investigation.
