An Edmonton pedestrian is dead after being hit by a Jeep at an intersection

A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday morning in north-central Edmonton.

Edmonton police said in a news release Sunday afternoon that the 18-year-old was crossing northbound 107 Avenue at 130 Street at 12:30 p.m. when she was struck by an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The woman died on the spot.

Police have charged the 34-year-old woman driving the Jeep with refusing to drive after a crash resulting in death and impairment resulting in death.
