A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Waipahu that left a woman seriously injured

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Waipahu that left a 76-year-old woman in critical condition Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. in the area of ​​Farrington Highway and Pahu Street.

According to Honolulu Police, a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old man was traveling east on Farrington Highway and turning right onto Pahu Street when it struck a woman crossing the street.

The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police said the driver initially stopped and then fled the scene without rendering assistance.

He was later arrested for collision resulting in death or serious bodily injury.

Speed, drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
