The victims involved in the murder-suicide case were identified

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Laredo Police officers were called to an apartment building in the 7600 block Laguna Del Mar Ct. in connection with a report of a person with a weapon.

The report was received on Sunday, November 24, around 8:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found an apartment with an open door and two women with gunshot wounds inside.

One of the victims died on the spot, the other was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators believe it was a murder-suicide.

The victims were identified as 74-year-old Hermilia Villarreal and her granddaughter, 26-year-old Sarah Christina Villarreal.

The case is being treated as Laredo’s sixth murder this year.
