The trial has begun for a Texas County man who allegedly shot at his neighbor

On the afternoon of December 21, 2021, Texas County deputies responded to a report of an individual shooting at people on Deason Drive in the Licking area. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a man who stated he was leaving the residence with his wife and children in a wheelchair. The man reported that a neighbor, later identified as Chadwin Wade, shot at them with a rifle. Deputies made contact with Wade, who admitted to shooting at the family with a rifle while in the stroller. None of the people in the cart were hit by the shots.

Chadwin Wade, 46, of Licking, was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail. Texas County Prosecutor Parke Stevens charged Wade with three counts of Assault No. 1street degree and armed criminal action. Wade is scheduled to appear before a jury on February 10, 2025.
