Government not involved in Veyangoda treasure excavation: Minister – Breaking News

Colombo, Nov 26 (Daily Mirror) – The government was not involved in the treasure-hunting excavations near Wandurawa Rajamaha Vihara in Veyangoda, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

At his weekly briefing, he ordered the announcement of the cabinet’s decision that the excavations had been carried out on the orders of Judge Attanagalle.

The excavations ended without discovering any treasures or items of archaeological value.
