A man has been arrested after he reportedly stabbed a teenage Carver Fleet Farm worker in the neck

A 31-year-old Kansas City man was arrested Sunday in Carver after stabbing a Fleet Farm employee, according to a news release from the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a reported attack at Fleet Farm around 2:06 p.m. There they found a 17-year-old store employee who had been stabbed in the neck.

According to authorities, the girl was taken to the hospital, and her condition is currently stable.

Stephanie Armstrong’s husband and daughter went to Fleet Farm on Sunday to run some errands and returned home with a shocking story.

“My husband was inside, shopping, and all of a sudden he heard a young girl actually screaming, ‘He stabbed me,'” said Armstrong, who lives in Waconia. “Very scary and shocking.”

“I hope and pray that she (the victim) will make a full recovery and be able to cross this bridge at some point, return to work and return to normal life. It was certainly unfair,” Armstrong said.

Authorities said the 31-year-old suspect from Kansas left the scene before crews arrived.

Armstrong claims her daughter saw it. “He came out as a suspect and got into the car right next to her and drove away,” Armstrong said. “The saddest thing is that you don’t feel like you have to be on your guard until you hear things like that. That’s when you realize that life can change in a second and you really need to be aware of your surroundings.

The witness gave officers a description of the suspect’s vehicle and registration number. Police later arrested the man and took him into custody.

Jail records show Gerald Dwayne Hudson was booked into jail on a charge of second-degree assault.

Authorities say there is no connection between the suspect and the employee.
