The crash causes a miles-long traffic jam on I-17 near Black Canyon City

BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — A multi-vehicle crash on I-17 near Black Canyon City is backing up traffic for miles.

The southbound lane was completely closed when the accident occurred.

On Sunday at 4:00 p.m., the alternate route is approximately 12 miles long

DPS says the southbound right lane is open. The southbound left lane remains closed.

There is no estimated time when this lane will reopen.

According to DPS, the people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.
