Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang claims to have attacked rapper Badshah’s club

The explosion outside two clubs, including one owned by rapper Badshah, in Chandigarh was allegedly carried out by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after their attempts to extort money failed.

According to a Facebook post allegedly written by Goldy Brar, a Canadian terrorist linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, he and another gang member, Rohit Godara, were responsible for Monday’s blasts outside Seville Bar and Lounge and De Orra Club in Chandigarh. night.

The Seville Bar and Lounge is owned by singer Badshah, and the De Orra Club is run by local businessmen.

The post, which NDTV could not independently verify, said two of the club’s owners were contacted over phone regarding “protection money” but they did not respond.

It said the explosions were intended to send a message that anyone who ignored such calls could face consequences.

Police said a detailed investigation was ongoing. There was no immediate comment from the owners of either club.

CCTV footage shows the man throwing what was probably a primitive bomb at the clubs and then running away. Explosions shattered the glass windows of factories. There were no reports of any injuries.

Mr. Bishnoi is currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat in connection with a cross-border drug smuggling case.

Mr Brar, whose real name is Satinderjit Singh and runs his gang from Canada, was designated a terrorist by the Center earlier this year. He is believed to be the mastermind behind the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

Godara was also accused of various crimes, including planning a shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai in April. He was also allegedly involved in the murders of Moosewala and Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi last year.

Badshah opened the Seville restaurant in December last year, while also co-owning two other establishments – Sago Spicy Symphony and Sidera. The 39-year-old rapper sings songs in Hindi, English, Punjabi and Haryanvi languages. He has also sung songs for some Bollywood films like ‘Kapoor and Sons’ and ‘Crew’.
