Sky Sports 'takes action' after Roy Keane engaged in furious altercation with Ipswich fan during Man Utd draw

Roy Keane became involved in a heated exchange with a fan while working for Sky Sports covering Manchester United’s draw with Ipswich.

Sky Sports took action after Roy Keane was involved in a heated argument with a fan on Sunday.

Keane was at Portman Road to watch his former clubs City of Ipswich AND Manchester United meet in First leagueand the hosts scored a point Reuben Amorimthe first match in charge after Omari Hutchinson canceled out Marcus Rashford’s strike.

The Irishman returned to the Ipswich pitch where he managed it for two years and was a Sky pundit alongside Izzy Christiansen and Jamie Redknapp.

But the flares sharpened like during a commercial break, Keane got into a conflict with an Ipswich fan who was abusing him for his spell leading the Tractor Boys over a decade ago.

Footage from Daily Mail. it showed Keane putting down the microphone and heading to the front row to face a fan, and a second clip from a closer scene of the Irishman telling supporters: “I’ll wait for you in the car park and we can discuss it!”

The supporter in question appears to be Neil Finbow, who he presented his version of events on Facebook. He claimed he had vented to Keane and “reminded him that he had set us back five years and ruined our football club” and also told him, among other things, that he was “unable to set foot anywhere near our stadium”.

Ipswich security staff intervened to remove the fan after Keane calmly returned to his post.

According to Sunchief sports reporter Martin Lipton, Heavenly sports are looking into the matter and have asked Redknapp, Christiansen, presenter Kelly Cates and current production staff to give their views on what happened so that management can better understand the situation.

The report stressed that no further action was expected and there had been discussions about the need for Keane to provide additional security in the future.

In June A the man was found guilty of common assault on Keane following an alleged headbutt during Arsenal’s match against Manchester United in September 2023.

Scott Law was given a three-year ban and ordered to pay £764 costs.
