He faces charges in the death of his 16-year-old brother, who was killed at his home in the 19900 block of Stone Creek Court early Monday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, six teenagers, ages 16 to 19, were in the home after drinking alcohol and using several firearms.

According to reports presented in court Tuesday morning, Tettleton told investigators he believed the gun was unloaded when he pointed it at his brother’s chest and fired from no more than six inches away.

Prosecutors say he initially denied involvement, allegedly asking other teenagers to help him hide the gun and shell casing.

Officials say Tettleton finally confessed to the shooting when his lawyer appeared during questioning.

Authorities say the boy’s parents were attending to personal matters outside the home and it is unlikely they will be charged in their son’s death at this stage.
