A Hong Kong couple arrested for allegedly leaving a worker’s body on the side of the road

A 67-year-old man and his 65-year-old girlfriend were arrested for allegedly leaving an illegal worker on the side of the road, who later died in hospital.

The worker was found on the ground on Cheung Sha Wan Road near Nam Cheong Street in Sham Shui Po at 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

He was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital in Yau Ma Tei, where he was confirmed dead at 2:10 p.m.

Police later found a delivery van on nearby Yu Chau Street, where the employee was believed to have previously been staying.

A man and a woman found in a van have been arrested for illegally disposing of bodies.

A police source said the deceased man, in his 40s, was an illegal renovation worker who worked for the couple in the New Territories. Earlier that day at work, he seemed sick.
