The Metropolitan Police said that a woman from Assam was found dead in an official apartment in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar area on Tuesday. The decomposed body of the victim, identified as Maya Gogoi, was found in a company apartment which she had reportedly booked with her boyfriend Aarav Harni on November 23.

Police suspect that Harni, who hails from Kerala, killed Maya on November 24 by stabbing her repeatedly and remained with the body for a day before leaving her rented apartment, news agency PTI reported. Gogoi worked for a private company and lived in the HSR Layout area of ​​the metropolis.

According to the police, the suspect was also staying with the victim in the company apartment for the last three days. The apartment surveillance footage shows that the woman and the suspect arrived at the apartment on November 23. After killing her, he allegedly fled.

Police said a murder case has been registered and teams have been formed to hunt the suspect. “We are on scene and have sent a team to HSR Layout where she worked to establish her identity. The accused is from Kerala and we are trying to get more information in this regard,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) D Devaraj. India today.
