Four teenagers among five injured after stolen vehicle collides with car in Scarborough – CP24

Five people were taken to hospital, including four teenagers, after a stolen vehicle crashed in Scarborough late Monday night.

Five people were taken to hospital, including four teenagers, after a stolen vehicle crashed in Scarborough late Monday night.

The two-vehicle collision occurred near Eglinton Avenue and Brimley Road around 10:30 p.m.

According to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which is investigating the circumstances of the incident, officers were conducting a “mobile traffic stop” on Brimley Road when they saw a Honda CRV traveling “at a high rate of speed”.

According to the SIU, officers followed the vehicle and as it passed through the intersection, the Honda struck the Audi and then collided with an empty bus shelter.

Paramedics told CP24 that the four teenagers in the Honda were taken to a trauma center for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police confirmed that two men and two women are currently in custody in connection with the accident.

According to the paramedic, the passenger of the Audi suffered minor injuries.

The SIU confirmed that three investigators and two forensic specialists have been assigned to the case.
